Ty Wooten
Ty Wooten, ENP is the Director of Government Affairs for the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) and a nationally and internationally recognized leader with more than 30 years of experience in public safety and emergency communications. His career spans frontline operations, executive leadership, and national policy, giving him a unique perspective on the challenges and future of 911 and emergency dispatch.
Prior to joining IAED, Ty served as Director of Education for NENA: The 9-1-1 Association and previously held landmark leadership roles as the first Director of the Hancock County (IN) 9-1-1 Center and the Indianapolis International Airport Communications Center. He has also advised agencies through his work in public safety consulting.
A former Communications Officer, firefighter, EMT, law enforcement officer, and hostage negotiator, Ty brings deep operational credibility to every discussion. A sought-after speaker, he is known for translating complex issues into practical, actionable insights. He also serves on numerous boards and working groups and is a strong advocate for wellness and workforce sustainability through his work with Positive911.
