Steve joined the Royal Signals in September 1986 as a Telecommunication Technician. During his time in the Army, he deployed on 8 operational tours in Northern Ireland, the former Yugoslavia, Iraq and Afghanistan. He was awarded an MBE in 2006 for his role as the senior communications engineer in 12 Mechanized Brigade, who were the first formation to convert to Bowman and to deploy it on operations in Iraq during 2005. Steve retired from the Army in December 2012 having served for a little over 26 years. Following the military Steve worked for C3IA Solutions and built a team of 15 engineers and cyber specialists supporting UK MOD Special Projects. He had a short period at FalCom, before joining Silvus Technologies in June 2023.
Steve has a BSc in Telecommunication Engineering, an MSc in Communication and Information Systems Management, he is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the IET.
