Mark Swift
Mark served with the Metropolitan Police between 1987 and 2013, starting as a beat Constable before promotion to Sergeant then Inspector. During this time, Mark served at various Divisions as well as protracted spells at New Scotland Yard where he specialised in Public Order Command and Control. Mark spent half of his service in the Communications environment, firstly as a call taker/dispatcher and later as a Supervisor in the Met’s 999 communications complex, Information Room before ultimately managing the Met's Command & Control facility for all Major Incidents and Events including Olympic Gold Command, Queens Diamond Jubilee and numerous spontaneous Major Incidents from Terrorist Attacks to Transport Disasters, Student Riots and large scale demonstrations, New Year’s Eve, Notting Hill Carnival and ceremonial events such as Royal Weddings (and funerals), State Visits and Trooping the Colour.
Mark joined Airwave / Motorola in 2013 and is the Solution Manager for CommandCentral CRS, a software solution that provides communications, command and control for the emergency services in the UK and beyond.
