Hjördís Garðarsdóttir is the Human Resources and Educational Representative at Neyðarlínan 112, Iceland’s national emergency communication center. With over 15 years of experience in emergency communications, Hjördís leads training and professional development for all new and current telecommunicators, ensuring preparedness in high-pressure, life-saving situations.

From 2007 to 2017, Hjördís served as a 112 telecommunicator before transitioning into consultancy work in crisis management and training. In 2022, she returned to Neyðarlínan in a leadership capacity. She is an APCO-certified instructor and a passionate advocate for wellness, continuous learning, and resilience in public safety roles.

Hjördís holds degrees in event planning, tourism management, and a post graduate diploma in crisis and disaster management. She has contributed to several national task forces on emergency services and taught emergency communication at the University of Iceland.
