Pronto Biometrics fingerprint identification - protecting police and the public with faster, more efficient fingerprint identification. It saves your officers on the frontline valuable time by delivering rapid, real-time capability to check fingerprints against national database records.

Equipped with a mobile device installed with Pronto biometric software and a Home Office and FBI approved fingerprint device, an authorised user can quickly carry out a check on a subject.

By increasing out of custody disposals, Pronto Biometrics is helping to save valuable time and allowing officers to remain visible. The result being more people will be dealt with via non-custodial disposals such as caution, restorative justice, penalty ticket, summons or community resolution. This is not only more efficient for the police and more convenient for the suspect but places less strain on the criminal justice system.

Proven in an operational environment

“Almost instantly after deployment we found how valuable rapid biometric identification can be,” said Ian Williams, Chief Inspector, Digital Policing lead for West Yorkshire Police. “We have already been able to identify seriously injured individuals, enabling medical staff to quickly offer accurate treatment and contact the family. In another case, we’ve identified a disqualified driver, summonsed him to court and seized his vehicle on the scene – all without the need to travel to the station and practically disable an Armed Response Vehicle for hours.”
