Welsh force rolls-out data-sharing solution
Dyfed-Powys Police has announced that it will be joining a pre-existing ‘tri-force’ cluster using the NicheRMS intelligence platform.
Other forces involved in the aforementioned group include North Wales, Merseyside and Cheshire police forces, all of whom have access to shared ‘person, object, location, event’ data. Dyfed-Powys' migration onto the platform will take place over the next 18 months.
Speaking of the procurement, Dyfed-Powys Police deputy chief constable Claire Parmenter said: “We believe this [technology] will [provide] a significant advantage for frontline police officers as we concentrate on bringing people to justice and supporting our vulnerable people and communities.”
Tri-force programme director Sue McTaggart said: “This is a great step forward in terms of collaboration, as well as the added benefits of shared intelligence for police officers and staff. We look forward to working with Niche and Dyfed-Powys over the coming months.”
