5G AI-Powered Ambulance: Connected Emergency Care in Action
At Mobile World Congress, Ericsson demonstrates a connected ambulance powered by 5G and edge AI. The solution collects real-time patient data using wireless sensors, audio input, and video to support faster medical decisions in the field.
When paramedics reach a patient, vital signs and audio data are analyzed by an edge AI model. Once the patient is inside the ambulance, video becomes an additional input—allowing the AI system to validate patient conditions and help paramedics identify potential risk factors during transport.
Hospitals receive continuous updates throughout the journey, giving medical teams full visibility into patient status before arrival. A detailed post-action report is also automatically generated summarizing the patient’s condition and care timeline from first response to hospital delivery.
This connected healthcare solution is powered by Ericsson 5G connectivity and edge AI technology from Atian, helping emergency teams deliver faster, more informed care.
Recorded at Mobile World Congress (MWC).
