The upgrade addresses the service’s need to replace end-of-life radio equipment that was experiencing reliability issues, potentially compromising firefighter safety and emergency coordination. The new system includes fixed mobiles for their incident command unit, Motorola R7 digital mobile radios with colour display and full keypad, along with a range of accessories such as personalised Peter Jones leather carry cases so teams can easily identify their user group, RM760 large remote speaker microphones for officer use, and Nexus NS750 remote speaker microphones specifically designed to work with Drager breathing apparatus, all backed by a five-year enhanced warranty support package.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service protects approximately 678,000 residents, employing 900 staff across operational and support roles. The service operates 54 fire appliances, 31 specialist vehicles, and one incident command unit, responding to approximately 4000 incidents annually.
