Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service selects Motorola Solutions V500 body worn cameras
Manchester, UK – September 2025 – Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS), in partnership with Radiocoms Systems Ltd (Radiocoms), today announced they have selected the Motorola Solutions V500 body worn cameras for use across its Risk & Assurance, Protection and Response teams, scaling up from a small fleet of existing VB400 body cams. This initiative marks a significant advancement in their fire service operations.
Following comprehensive evaluation trials, NFRS selected Motorola Solutions’ V500 platform for its recording versatility and proven reliability. The decision was reinforced by the service’s existing successful partnership with Radiocoms.
The V500 cameras feature advanced LTE connectivity, enabling real-time streaming capabilities that provide staff with live operational intelligence and the future capability to work with the service’s existing MOTOTRBO two way radio system.
Group Manager of NFRS, Chris Emmott, said: “These cameras represent a major step forward in our commitment to keeping our communities safe and becoming an outstanding fire and rescue service. The implementation of the cameras will provide our operational staff with advanced recording capabilities that enhance both the safety of our staff and the public, as well as our ability to document and evaluate the incidents we attend, making it an invaluable tool for us.”
Simon Bingham, Senior Account Manager, Radiocoms, said: “Front-line fire and rescue teams operate in some of the most challenging and dynamic environments. This technology improves incident visibility during critical operations while creating comprehensive digital records for training, analysis, and accountability purposes. We’re proud to continue supporting NFRS in implementing this transformative technology that will enhance their operational capabilities.”
NFRS joins a growing network of emergency services across the UK and Europe that have selected Motorola Solutions’ body camera technology to enhance their operations and public safety outcomes.
